A JOURNEY THROUGH THE BRANCHES OF THE OKAVANGO DELTA
Botswana’s Okavango River, “the river that never reaches the sea”, makes the region look like a tree resting on the sand, its myriad roots carving out an aquatic labyrinth that is re-created daily by the whims of the water. On the banks of these many waterways grows vegetation with all kinds of scents. From papyrus to acacia and sycamore trees, this flora is an inexhaustible source of inspiration that feeds the imagination without ever satisfying it.
I wanted to create a fragrance that was an ode to the acacia. I brought out its sweet, honeyed side and added the sunny, powdery notes of woolly caper and the green notes of the papyrus that lines the banks of the delta. The woody notes of sycamore and mopane, along with the fruity notes of marula, complete the composition, giving the fragrance a soft, addictive touch.
